Personal Names

Personal names consist of different parts, like the given name, the surname, the nickname, etc. You can use the following forms to enter names:

  • GivenName Surname
  • Surname, GivenName
  • GivenName /Surname/ GivenName

Genea will try to understand the name you entered and assign the parts correctly. If it fails, a window will be shown in which you have to assign them by yourself. Can can also show this window by clicking on the button beside each name input field.

[edit] Corrections

Names are auto-corrected to fit the following specifications

  • only one space is used to seperate parts of a name
  • there mustn't be leading or trailing spaces
  • no numbers or other special characters are allowed
  • names are title-cased
