Number

From Genea-Doc

This functionality is available from version 1.4. If you are using an older version of Genea, you can easily update to the current version. (Which version of Genea am I using?)

You can assign numbers to people and events for identifying them more quickly. These numbers are an information for you solely, and are not processed by Genea.

You can use numbers multiple times, but Genea will ask you if you really want to use the number more than once.

[edit] People

You can quickly find a person, if you know his/her number. When searching for a person, just enter the number instead of all other search criteria and click on Search Persons. The person with the given number will show up in the list.

[edit] Events

Numbers for events currently don't have a useful function, but they will be used in future version of Genea to quickly identify the events.
